PC Nastiness

Plans for dev work on the 'ol weblog app were derailed earlier today. I spent my afternoon and evening (and now, actually) rebuilding my primary machine at home. I think I will go ahead and give Ghost a try once I get everything installed again.

Sigh...

The thing I hate the most about occurrences like this, is the timing... I'm always busy when my system dies... but, when I'm all finished rebuilding, I always feel better for having rebuilt. It always comes back feeling cleaner and better organized than it was before...!

Agreed. Though it now seems that this could be a prolonged period of nastiness. I now supsect that my HD is finished. Placing a call to support today to get it replaced. Thank goodness for warranties, though a warranty can't recover my data.

The guarantee on my new UPS includes data recovery... :) a big factor in my decision to purchase that particular brand!

I do have a UPS, but I don't think my problems were due to power issues.

Just got off the phone with tech support, and they agree it's a bad HD, and I need to bring it in (fortunately, I bought his machine locally, so I am not looking at an extended period of time w/o it.

Have you got something to say?
